Director's Message

I am pleased to welcome you to the website of Georgia Tech-Lorraine, Georgia Tech’s European campus. As you peruse the website, I hope that you will see how we have successfully built education and research programs that reflect unique and innovative Franco-American collaborations.

Since 1990, we have built a complete undergraduate and graduate educational program that serves students not only from Georgia Tech, but from literally all over the world. We have established successful collaborations with Europe’s top engineering schools, and forged a Dual Degree program that offers students from the US, Europe, and world-wide a unique opportunity to not only receive a truly world-class education, but also to learn to be a global engineer. Over 7,500 alumni are currently pursuing successful careers in education, research, and industry in every continent around the world.

Our academic programs, particularly at the graduate level are fueled by the Unité Mixte Internationale UMI 2958 GT-CNRS, our international research center with laboratories in both Atlanta and Metz. In fact, our cutting-edge research in secure networks and innovative materials led to the creation of the Institut Lafayette, which promotes technology transfer from Georgia Tech-Lorraine’s research laboratories, and transatlantic industrial research and development opportunities in the optoelectronics sector.

In our increasingly “flat” world, Georgia Tech-Lorraine is leading the charge in forging international collaborations in education and research, and in educating tomorrow’s global leaders. I invite you to join in our exciting endeavors, as a student, alumni, educator or industrial partner.

Abdallah Ougazzaden,
Director, Georgia Tech-Lorraine
