WITHDRAWAL FOR MEDICAL REASONS
All requests for Medical withdrawals will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Medical withdrawal requires signed recommendation and supporting documentation from a licensed practicing physician. The supporting documentation must be submitted within 30 days from the occurrence date of the medical condition. A Georgia Institute of Technology Student Health Services physician will review and make recommendations to the Georgia Tech-Lorraine Director of Undergraduate Programs for all medical withdrawal requests. All medical withdrawal requests are unique. The type of situations that may warrant an approval of a Medical withdrawal include, but are not limited to, an unexpected medical condition or change(s) to an existing medical condition.
In the case of withdrawal for medical reasons, students will not be reimbursed the $500 application fee, but this fee can be applied to a future semester. The additional cancellation fees will be waived. Please contact Catherine Bass, Director of Undergraduate Programs, should you need to withdraw from the program for medical reasons.
